Adam Finger was invited to address the PMI West Texas Chapter on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the 50 Yard Line Steakhouse. Adam served as a field scientist for the Scrub-A-Dubb Superfund Remediation Project under the direction of the U.S. EPA and he was invited to speak about "Challenges Associated with Environmental Response Projects". Adam Finger is a dynamic public speaker and was excited about this knowledge-sharing opportunity.
Armed with an environmental science degree from West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas, Jarrod Redwine set out with one goal in mind: find a job—ANY job—in the environmental science field. He knew he wanted to use his degree, but wasn’t exactly clear how or where. With the world as his oyster, a friend recommended a visit to V-tech Environmental Services.
Like a lot of students in our region, Chris Windham, Technical Specialist at V-tech Environmental Services in Lubbock, Texas, had a difficult time charting a career path for himself after high school. After working with his dad in Colorado, he eventually settled in his hometown of Lubbock to attend South Plains College. Quickly realizing he wasn’t suited for college life, he enlisted in the Marine Corps “on a whim” on March 17, 2003.
Lubbock City Council gave final approval to Ordinance 2008-00095 on November 20, 2008, which requires a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to be submitted for City of Lubbock review in conjunction with requesting a building permit. While this ordinance is not new, enforcement has now been stepped up in order to prevent sediment and erosion from getting into Lubbock’s municipally separate storm sewer system (MS4).
